Happy Anniversary Love!

I had the privilege of having my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at MUSC. I had been having trouble with them for the past week and after a visit to my dentist on Monday, he recommended I just get them out. Thankfully, the surgery clinic saw me for a consult on Wednesday afternoon and fit me in between OR cases on Thursday. So yesterday I had the joy of being a patient undergoing anesthesia for the first time in my life. A second year resident started my IV and hooked me up to the monitors. I think he was nervous because he found out I am a nurse, poor thing, but he got the IV on the first stick. I sat waiting for a while, listening to my heart rate on the monitors before the attending and residents rushed in to get me sleepy. The last thing I remember as they were pumping my IV with versed and fentanyl was my head swimming, and saying “whoa” as I blacked out. When I woke up, I was in the recovery room, my IV was gone, and apparently I had asked several times already how I had gotten there there and if had walked from the operatory to the recovery room.  Austin was a great nurse yesterday packing my mouth with gauze and my face with ice packs, allowing me to sleep off the meds. Strange to be on the receiving end. I’m so used to starting IVs and putting people to sleep. I guess this will give me more empathy for my patients. What an experience.

We’ve neglected to show how much our pup has grown. She’s becoming such a young lady.

In March, we flew to Chicago and drove to Iowa City to see these lovelies!

We met Ian for the first time. What a cool kid he is.

We added Molly to our family in late March. She’s a sweet, quirky, energetic Australian Shepherd puppy who we love so much already.

Heath and Krista came down from Greenville for a weekend in April.

We returned to the spot where Austin proposed in Magnolia Plantation. Ahh memories.

Molly grew so quickly she almost doesn’t fit in the sink, growing pup.

Also in our travels, we went up to Greenwood to celebrate Mr. Judah’s first birthday. Almost the whole Rampey crew was there for this baseball party. We were only missing Abram.

Presents were so much more fun after a nap.

We met my family in Charlotte at my aunt’s for Easter. Maddie’s grown so much too!

Austin participated in Beards for Babies this month, and this past week along with many of his classmates, he shaved his beard save the mustache. I think he sports it well actually, especially with his combed coiffe. He’s been calling himself General Beauregard of the Confederate Army.

I made one of my quickest trips this past weekend up to Ohio for Maddie’s dedication. I arrived Saturday morning around 10 and left Sunday evening just after 7. It was well worth the trip to see my family on Maddie’s special day.

This poor baby got sick enough to need nebulizers. She is so good though and lets Mom and Dad give her the medicine.

She’s such a happy baby even if she is sick.

She loves bathtime.

I love baby dedications. They are so meaningful for even me as an aunt to commit to show Christ to my nieces and nephews.
